Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Danny Hooper (ranked 4137 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kwon Woo Lee (ranked 3571 p4p, 0 weight class). Kwon Woo Lee is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Danny Hooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kwon Woo Lee!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Roberts and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee shoots in for a takedown but Hooper shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Hooper shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lee but Lee pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Lee takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
A left and a right from Lee both land. Nice combination.
No luck for Lee with that takedown attempt.
Hooper fails with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hooper is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Lee lands a big head kick that sends Hooper tumbling to the mat! Lee takes a step backwards and waves Hooper back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Oh Hooper is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lee swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hooper seems to have got his legs back now.
Hooper misses with a two punch combination.

Lee gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Lee jumps guard and drags Hooper to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Lee tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Hooper stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lee swivels though and keeps the full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hooper accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hooper trying to control but Lee is working from the bottom.
Lee pulls Hooper in close to prevent any damage.

Hooper drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lee manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hooper has Lee in his guard.

Hooper escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lee gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Lee is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Lee decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hooper, up you get!
Hooper wants to clinch up but Lee keeps it at a distance.
Lee thinks about the counter body kick.
Hooper shoots in for a double leg but Lee sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Danny Hooper. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hooper is defended easily by Lee.
Hooper shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lee but Lee pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Lee is looking for the big counter here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hooper dives in and grabs Lee's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lee pushes down on Hooper's head and hops out.

Kwon Woo Lee dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Lee fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hooper, pushing him back against the cage.

Lee escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hooper fails with a takedown attempt.
Lee has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Hooper moves in looking to clinch but Lee pushes him off.
Hooper looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lee is fending him off so far but Hooper persists. Nope, Lee circles away and we're back to standing.
Lee throws a fast counter high kick but Hooper manages to duck under it in time.

Lee lands a big head kick that sends Hooper tumbling to the mat! Lee takes a step backwards and waves Hooper back to his feet - he wants the finish!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

It looked like Hooper was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Lee wants to counter the offense by Hooper and move into the clinch position.

Hooper tries to keep at a distance but Lee has taken the fight into the clinch.

Hooper is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Lee to keep the fight standing.

Hooper postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Hooper slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
You can see the frustration on Lee's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Kwon Woo Lee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Hooper moves in looking to clinch but Lee pushes him off.
Lee tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Hooper shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lee but Lee pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Lee throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hooper's waist but Hooper gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lee off to one side.
Lee shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hooper as he jumps to the side.
Hooper closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lee circles away.

Lee is looking for a triangle but Hooper pushes his legs off easily.
Hooper wanted to stand there but Lee had control of the position.

Hooper has gone for a leg lock! Lee slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hooper's guard.

Hooper gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Hooper swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Hooper keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Kwon Woo Lee has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hooper tries to hold on but Lee pushes him away.
Lee unloads with some shots from mount but Hooper bucks and avoids them well.
Lee controlling the pace for now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hooper is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kwon Woo Lee comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lee has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
