Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Khamid Osman Durnagoz (ranked 2713 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Matousek (ranked 4504 p4p, 0 weight class). Jacob Matousek has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Khamid Osman Durnagoz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jacob Matousek!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Columbo Gatti and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matousek stuffs the takedown attempt from Durnagoz. Durnagoz gets slowly back to his feet.
Durnagoz throws a series of punches but Matousek avoids them all with ease.
Durnagoz misses with a double jab

and Matousek counters by clinching up.

Matousek breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Durnagoz throws a head kick but Matousek moves out of range.

Matousek drives through and clinches with Durnagoz against the cage.
Durnagoz looking to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Durnagoz is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Durnagoz tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Matousek manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Matousek has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Durnagoz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Matousek tries to strike from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Matousek is on top in guard.

Durnagoz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Matousek thows a huge punch but Durnagoz dodges it nicely.
Matousek thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Durnagoz's head.

Matousek is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Matousek is working for a submission of some sort.

Durnagoz is trying to maintain the position but Matousek is very close to passing his half guard.
It looks like Matousek is going to stand back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Durnagoz trying to hold on to Matousek's head to control him but Matousek postures up.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Matousek rushes Durnagoz and presses him up against the cage.
Matousek misses with a hook to the ribs.
Matousek has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Durnagoz avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Matousek is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Matousek keeps control of Durnagoz as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Durnagoz tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Matousek just stands there and leans against the cage.

Matousek manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Matousek is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Durnagoz throws a big right hand that misses.
Matousek is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Durnagoz is controlling him.
Durnagoz wants to stand but Matousek has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Matousek wants to sweep here but Durnagoz controlling him for the moment.

Matousek keeping moving, preventing Durnagoz from controlling successfully.
Matousek is looking to stand up but Durnagoz isn't so interested in that idea.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Matousek closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Matousek goes for a double leg but Durnagoz avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Durnagoz continues to drive forward.
Matousek shoots in looking for a takedown. Durnagoz tries to sprawl out of it but Matousek keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Durnagoz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Matousek has a takedown stuffed.
Durnagoz tries to clinch there but Matousek circles away.
Durnagoz fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Durnagoz moves in looking to clinch but Matousek pushes him off.
Matousek has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Jacob Matousek showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Matousek shoots in but no luck this time.
Matousek throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Durnagoz's waist but Durnagoz gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Matousek off to one side.
Durnagoz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Matousek is fending him off so far but Durnagoz persists. Nope, Matousek circles away and we're back to standing.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Matousek.

As Matousek looks to move away, Durnagoz throws a big counter combo but Matousek just gets out of the way.

Durnagoz goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Matousek changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Durnagoz tries to avoid it but Matousek manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Durnagoz to the ground. Durnagoz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Durnagoz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Matousek as he avoids it easily.
Matousek closes the distance and clinches up with Durnagoz, looking for a takedown. Matousek pushes Durnagoz against the cage but Durnagoz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Matousek looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
Matousek shoots in for a takedown but Durnagoz shows good takedown defense.

Durnagoz can't find room to land a body shot as Matousek controls the action.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Khamid Osman Durnagoz.
I think Matousek has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
