Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Petr Kotrc (ranked 20848 p4p, 149 weight class) and Maciej Gorski (ranked 20649 p4p, 145 weight class). Gorski has chosen Harnaś as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Petr Kotrc!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 21 - 1, fighting out of London, Maciej Gorski!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gorski closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Kotrc keeps control of the position for the meantime.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Kotrc will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Gorski leaves Kotrc with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Kotrc closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gorski is looking for a sweep. Kotrc is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Kotrc thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gorski's head.

Gorski has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Kotrc is on him like a limpet, forcing Gorski back against the cage.
Kotrc wants to break free but Gorski has control.
Kotrc has had enough of the clinch but Gorski keeps him there for the moment.
Kotrc lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Kotrc is trying to stall.

Kotrc has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Gorski is trying to keep an underhook but Kotrc manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Gorski wants to control but Kotrc is keeping busy.

Kotrc decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Kotrc throws a nice looking combination but Gorski bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Kotrc shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gorski's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kotrc wants to control from the top but Gorski keeps moving.
Gorski is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kotrc is controlling him.

Kotrc drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gorski looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gorski looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gorski!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Maciej Gorski will probably get the nod.
That's time! Kotrc's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kotrc gets back to half guard.
Kotrc tries to kick Gorski off but Gorski keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Gorski looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kotrc with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Gorski has hold of one of Kotrc's legs. Kotrc is fighting the takedown attempt but Gorski gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Kotrc fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Gorski, pushing him back against the cage.
Kotrc has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Kotrc misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Kotrc is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Gorski can't fight it off and eventually Kotrc manages to take the fight to the floor. Gorski looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Gorski is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Gorski tries to roll over but Kotrc keeps him under control.
Kotrc takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Kotrc wants to work for an arm triangle but Gorski is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gorski wants to get back to his feet.
Kotrc working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kotrc connects with a nice short shot to Gorski's temple.
Kotrc has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Gorski feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kotrc is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Gorski presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oh Kotrc is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Gorski is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Kotrc knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Kotrc for a finish.
Gorski lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
