Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roy Bread (ranked 5402 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joao Ferro (ranked 24674 p4p, 613 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Joao Ferro!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Chris Edwards and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferro looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bread is fending him off so far but Ferro persists. Nope, Bread circles away and we're back to standing.
Ferro takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Bread fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ferro avoids it really well and circles away.
Bread avoids the head kick by Ferro.
Ferro tries to work over Bread's front leg with a kick but Bread checks it.
Nice takedown defense from Ferro. No joy for Bread on that attempt.
Ferro leaves Bread with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
As Bread backs off Ferro throws a huge counter combo but Bread manages to avoid it all.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roy Bread. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ferro fails in his attempt to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bread shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ferro sprawls well. Ferro wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bread gets slowly back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bread escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ferro gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bread is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Bread is looking to counter the offense by Ferro and move into the clinch.
Bread shoots for a takedown but Ferro saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Bread manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ferro manages to get himself to full guard.

Ferro shoots for a double leg takedown but Bread sprawls well. He's pushed Ferro's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

That was a close second round but I would say that Roy Bread will probably get the nod.

Bread sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ferro's guard.
Bread is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Ferro!

Bread misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Bread sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Roy Bread overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bread throwing strikes here but Ferro is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
BOOM! Bread connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Ferro takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Bread sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Bread is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Ferro to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Ferro shrugs it off.
Roy Bread is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Bread is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Ferro is surviving well by controlling Bread's body position as best he can.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bread, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
