The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mitterpach closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Mitterpach looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Mitterpach has Norton pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Mitterpach pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Norton tumbling to the mat - Mitterpach dives into Norton's guard.

Mitterpach makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Norton controls Mitterpach momentarily but Mitterpach frees himself.
Norton is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Mitterpach is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mitterpach is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Norton is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Mitterpach jumps into side control!

Both fighters take a look at the clock.
Norton is letting Mitterpach control him for a moment.
Norton wants to control but Mitterpach postures up.

Mitterpach tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mitterpach has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Mitterpach has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Norton is in real trouble here. Mitterpach gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Norton is tapping out! Mitterpach wins by rear naked choke!
