Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jason Brett (ranked 3922 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Silva (ranked 2612 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up but Brett swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Brett definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Silva gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brett is in close to Silva's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Brett seems to be working for a kimura but Silva defends the submission attempt.
Brett slips a nice elbow through Silva's hands, connecting with Silva's forehead.
Brett seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Silva does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Silva might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Brett haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Silva turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Brett off and cradles Silva's limp body as Brett celebrates with his corner.

Jason Brett decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
