The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volkov looks to land a combination but Costa avoids it well.
A jab from Volkov misses.
Costa throwing a counter right hand but Volkov manages to avoid it.
Volkov loads up on a big right hand but Costa slips the punch.
Costa scores with a jab to the jaw.
Costa tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Volkov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Costa moves in looking to clinch but Volkov pushes him off.
Volkov misses with a shot to the body
letting Costa counter with a right hand.
Volkov misses with a double jab.
Costa ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Volkov misses with a hook. Costa ducked under it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Costa gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Volkov to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Costa is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Volkov pulls his head out easily.

Volkov is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Costa wants to improve his position but Volkov is controlling well.
Volkov tries to pass to full mount but Costa defends it.
Volkov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Costa keeps working.
Volkov moves nicely into side control.
Costa tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Volkov looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Costa tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Volkov wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Volkov working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Costa tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Volkov presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Costa is desperately trying to improve his position but Volkov has a good base and remains in mount.
Costa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Volkov on the ground.
Volkov looking to control but Costa is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Volkov wants to take Costa's back but he can't do it this time.
Costa has given up his back here. Will Volkov look for the submission or keep pounding away?
I really don't envy Costa right now.

Volkov has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Costa is defending well but eventually Volkov manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Costa has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
