Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Desmond Lewis (ranked 4380 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wolfgang Schneeweiss (ranked 4705 p4p, 0 weight class). Desmond Lewis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Desmond Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Wolfgang Schneeweiss!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, David Schapiro and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schneeweiss looks to land a body kick but Lewis moved away.
Schneeweiss throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lewis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Lewis stuffs the takedown.
Schneeweiss throws a head kick but Lewis moves out of range.
Lewis swats away the attempt to clinch by Schneeweiss.

Schneeweiss shoots in but no luck this time.

Lewis rushes Schneeweiss and presses him up against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lewis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Schneeweiss walks away with a smile on his face. Lewis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Lewis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Desmond Lewis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wolfgang Schneeweiss.
Schneeweiss steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Lewis. That one must have hurt.

Schneeweiss keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

and Lewis counters with a series of strikes. Schneeweiss will be more careful next time no doubt.

Lewis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Lewis wants to stand but Schneeweiss is controlling his posture from full guard.

Schneeweiss is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Lewis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Schneeweiss swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Schneeweiss wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Lewis slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Lewis wants to pass the guard but Schneeweiss is keeping the position.
Schneeweiss lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Schneeweiss won't allow Lewis to sweep him here.

Lewis has his foot on Schneeweiss's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Schneeweiss works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Nice sprawl there from Lewis as Schneeweiss shoots in.
Lewis fails to land the takedown.
Schneeweiss steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Lewis.
Lewis throws a sloppy head kick and Schneeweiss moves out of range easily.

Lewis pushes Schneeweiss up against the cage in a clinch.
Lewis prevents a takedown attempt there.
Lewis is struggling to control the position.
Lewis dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Schneeweiss has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Schneeweiss breaks the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Schneeweiss throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lewis's waist but Lewis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Schneeweiss off to one side.
Schneeweiss closes the distance and clinches up with Lewis, looking for a takedown. Schneeweiss pushes Lewis against the cage but Lewis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Lewis shoots in looking for a takedown but Schneeweiss manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lewis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Schneeweiss controlling well, preventing Lewis from escaping the position.
Schneeweiss really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Lewis.

Schneeweiss has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Lewis defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Schneeweiss's arms.
Schneeweiss is breathing heavily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Schneeweiss looking to break Lewis's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Lewis remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Schneeweiss will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Wolfgang Schneeweiss showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Lewis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Schneeweiss drops back looking for a leg! Lewis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lewis manages to kick Schneeweiss off! Schneeweiss jumps back into Lewis's guard.

Nice uppercut lands for Lewis. That snapped Schneeweiss's head back.
Lewis buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Lewis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Lewis gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Schneeweiss takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Schneeweiss trying to control but Lewis is working from the bottom.

Lewis is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Schneeweiss is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Schneeweiss won't allow Lewis to get back to his feet.

I think Schneeweiss has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
