Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryo Takuma (ranked 698 p4p, 27 weight class) and Furnum Pullum (ranked 1295 p4p, 63 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ryo Takuma!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Furnum Pullum!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yuuki Gou and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takuma throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Takuma with a jab.


It looks like Furnum Pullum has been cut.
Pullum fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Takuma gets caught flat footed, as Pullum shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Takuma wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Pullum drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pullum jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Pullum wants to control from the top but Takuma keeps moving.

Pullum drops back looking for a leg! Takuma is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Takuma manages to kick Pullum off! Pullum jumps back into Takuma's guard.
Takuma utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Pullum missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Pullum is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Pullum throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Pullum postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Takuma on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Takuma tries to get out of the position.
Pullum pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Takuma is keeping the position for now.
Takuma is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Pullum drops back looking for a leg! Takuma is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Takuma manages to kick Pullum off! Pullum jumps back into Takuma's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pullum accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Pullum not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Pullum trying to control but Takuma is working from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pullum stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Takuma swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pullum throws a big right hand that misses.
Takuma controlling Pullum's posture.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Takuma takes a swing at Pullum's ribcage but misses.
Pullum has his takedown stuffed
and Takuma counters with a nice body shot.
Takuma just misses with a punch to the body.
Pullum shoots in but no luck this time.
Takuma is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Ryo Takuma has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Furnum Pullum.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Takuma misses with a looping right.
A cross from Takuma lands.
Pullum has his takedown stuffed
and Takuma connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Takuma staying out of range there.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

and Takuma counters with a nice uppercut.
Takuma is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Takuma scores with a jab to the jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryo Takuma dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Furnum Pullum's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Takuma drops Pullum with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Pullum looks back up at him and smiles so Takuma waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Pullum shoots in and gets a takedown into Takuma's guard.
Takuma has control of Pullum's left arm, preventing Pullum from doing any damage.
Pullum throwing strikes but missing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pullum is working Takuma over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Pullum passes easily into side control. Nice work.
My spies in Navy Street MMA inform me that Pullum has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Pullum is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Takuma is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Pullum wants to control but Takuma is keeping him busy.

Takuma is trying to escape the position but Pullum is controlling the position.
Takuma struggling a bit here.

Pullum working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Pullum controls the position.

Pullum looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Sloppy strikes there by Pullum.

Pullum trying to control the position but Takuma is working away.

Pullum in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Takuma is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Furnum Pullum!
Furnum Pullum is the new super heavyweight champion!
Furnum Pullum decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
