Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between King Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Dostoevsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, King Emelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Dostoevsky !
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dostoevsky swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Dostoevsky shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Dostoevsky showed some decent athleticism there.
Emelianenko is trying to control but can't.
Dostoevsky is looking to advance position but Emelianenko won't allow it.
Dostoevsky is looking to take a break and control but Emelianenko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Emelianenko is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Dostoevsky 's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Dostoevsky 's back!

Dostoevsky manages to reverse the position and now he's in Emelianenko's guard. Nice work there by Dostoevsky .
Emelianenko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Emelianenko has his foot on Dostoevsky 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dostoevsky works his way back into a safe position though.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Dostoevsky flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Emelianenko is looking for a kimura but Dostoevsky is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Emelianenko to get the leverage.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Dostoevsky gets the takedown into side control.

Dostoevsky stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Dostoevsky shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Dostoevsky wants to control from the top but Emelianenko keeps moving.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Emelianenko closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Emelianenko lands in his opponent's guard.

Emelianenko is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dostoevsky defends it well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Dostoevsky is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Dostoevsky is looking for a rear naked choke here but Emelianenko reverses the position brilliantly into Dostoevsky 's guard!
Dostoevsky wants to hit a switch here but Emelianenko passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Dostoevsky there!
Dostoevsky really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Emelianenko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Emelianenko connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Dostoevsky is looking to improve his position but Emelianenko isn't that keen on the idea.
Emelianenko can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dostoevsky is looking to escape.

Emelianenko goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Dostoevsky is on top in guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Dostoevsky wants to pass the guard but Emelianenko is keeping the position.
Dostoevsky is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Emelianenko might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Emelianenko looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Dostoevsky puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Dostoevsky is pressing down on Emelianenko's thigh, looking to free his foot. Emelianenko is holding on for now.

and Emelianenko counters with a nice double leg into side control. Dostoevsky won't be happy with that.

Emelianenko is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Dostoevsky is trying to escape and Emelianenko transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Dostoevsky is forced to tap! Nice work there by Emelianenko! Very nice indeed!
