PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hin Areni (ranked 2062 p4p, 226 weight class) and Deez Nuts (ranked 2655 p4p, 279 weight class). Areni comes to the cage accompanied by Mosaique. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nuts misses with a hook.
Nuts throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nuts sizes up Areni with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Nuts is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Nuts decides to pull guard.

Nuts working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Areni doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Areni manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Nuts is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Areni defends well.

I was talking to Areni's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Areni got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nuts has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Areni has managed to get both his arms back between Nuts's legs - danger averted.
