Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jean Van Damme!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jesus Joseph!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Van Damme moves into the clinch.
Joseph misses with a body punch.
Van Damme tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Joseph lands a shot to the body.
Joseph tries to throw a body punch but Van Damme avoids it by throwing Joseph back against the cage.
Van Damme slows down the pace here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Joseph is pressed up against the cage. Van Damme has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Joseph down to the mat. Joseph avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

and Van Damme counters with a left to the body.

and Joseph counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Van Damme thinking.

Joseph tries to throw a body punch but Van Damme avoids it by throwing Joseph back against the cage.

Joseph tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Van Damme's elbow.
Joseph has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Van Damme avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Jean Van Damme has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesus Joseph.

That was a close round but I would say that Jean Van Damme will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Joseph now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Van Damme rushes Joseph and presses him up against the cage.
Van Damme's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Van Damme tries to break the clinch but Joseph is controlling the position.

Van Damme tries to keep at a distance but Joseph has taken the fight into the clinch.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Van Damme lands a left hand.
Joseph softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Van Damme working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Joseph is trying to break the clinch but Van Damme is controlling him.
Joseph lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Van Damme or not.

Jesus Joseph showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Van Damme lands a takedown into guard.
Van Damme looking to sit in guard and control but Joseph gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Joseph trying to control but Van Damme is working from the bottom.
Van Damme is adopting a defensive guard.

Van Damme manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Van Damme fails with an attempt to clinch.
Joseph moves in looking to clinch but Van Damme pushes him off.

Van Damme tries to clinch up but Joseph circles away and keeps his distance.
Joseph let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Joseph tries to close the distance and clinch but Van Damme swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jean Van Damme.
I think Van Damme has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
