Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Landon Rogers (ranked 5437 p4p, 0 weight class) and Beni Maurice (ranked 3319 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Landon Rogers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Beni Maurice!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rogers decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Rogers is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Rogers is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Maurice has managed to free his arm - good work.
Maurice is looking for a sweep. Rogers is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rogers thows a huge punch but Maurice dodges it nicely.
Maurice has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rogers is working away from the top position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rogers is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Maurice doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Rogers.
Maurice wants to improve his position but Rogers is controlling well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Maurice wants to control the position but Rogers says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Rogers will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Rogers is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Maurice is just riding it out for now. Rogers eventually gives up the hold.

Maurice has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rogers is working away from the top position though.

Maurice shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rogers manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Maurice drops back looking for a leg! Rogers is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rogers manages to kick Maurice off! Maurice jumps back into Rogers's guard.

Rogers shoots in but Maurice avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Rogers has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Maurice has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Rogers looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Maurice with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Maurice is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Rogers scores with a couple of nice shots.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rogers connects with a nice short shot to Maurice's temple.

Rogers is nestled in close to Maurice, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

I would just about give that final round to Beni Maurice.
