Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Scott Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shannon White!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. White was covering up waiting for the punch and Smith finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith with a nice head shot there.

White is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Smith is aware though and is defending well.
Smith looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

White is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Smith defends well.
Smith passes White's left leg - he's now in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith prevents White from improving his position.
White manages to get to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Smith avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Smith looking to sit in guard and control but White gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

White pushes down on Smith's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Smith wants to get back to full guard.
Smith makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Smith.

White has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Smith to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! White is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Smith pulls down on the head and he's put White to sleep! This one is all over!
