The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Joyce throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kotrc tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Joyce is in Kotrc's guard.

Joyce drops back looking for a leg! Kotrc is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kotrc manages to kick Joyce off! Joyce jumps back into Kotrc's guard.

Joyce wants to work for an arm triangle but Kotrc is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Joyce looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Joyce is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Joyce wants to pass the guard but Kotrc is defending well.
Kotrc is trying to maintain the position but Joyce is very close to passing his half guard.

Joyce is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Kotrc to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Kotrc knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Joyce on the ground.

Joyce is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Kotrc has his hands clasped together but Joyce extends and breaks Kotrc's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Joyce.
