Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Prince Atkinson (ranked 7368 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kang Desmond (ranked 5047 p4p, 0 weight class). Desmond is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Take a step back. Kang Desmond will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Desmond shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Atkinson as he avoids it easily.

It looks like Prince Atkinson has been cut.

Kang Desmond seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Atkinson has momentary wrist control but Desmond slips an elbow through the middle.
Atkinson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Desmond manages to get himself to full guard.

Desmond is fighting off a takedown attempt but Atkinson is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Desmond to the mat. Desmond regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Atkinson gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Atkinson apologises and we restart here on the feet.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Desmond can do anything to dispel that myth.

Desmond stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Desmond wants it to stay on the feet.
Despite the aggression on Desmond's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Atkinson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
