Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Art Thompson (ranked 23422 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oluf Krum (ranked 6268 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Art Thompson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Oluf Krum!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Krum decides to pull guard.
Krum looking to hit a scissor sweep but Thompson is one step ahead there.
Thompson working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Thompson with a nice head shot there.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Thompson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Thompson lands a couple of digs.
Krum looks winded!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thompson with a flurry of punches that miss.

Thompson stands up and waves to Krum to follow him.

Thompson drives through and clinches with Krum against the cage.
Krum is trying to break the clinch but Thompson has him pressed against the cage.
Thompson pulls Krum into guard.
Krum throws a strike but Thompson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Thompson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Krum's head.

Thompson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Thompson gets to his feet - Krum follows without any prompting.
Oluf Krum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Krum stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Krum wants it to stay on the feet.
Krum moves into the clinch.
Thompson can't get the takedown.
Krum has picked Thompson up - he's going for a ride! Krum dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Krum with the ground and pound but Thompson uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Thompson trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Thompson wants to stand up but Krum is controlling him.
Thompson looking for a sweep. Not yet Thompson, not yet.

Krum with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Thompson uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Krum gets tackled into the cage by Thompson. Thompson maintains the clinch.
Thompson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Thompson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Thompson is looking to stand up but Krum isn't so interested in that idea.
Krum stays in close to Thompson's body and controls the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Thompson kicks Krum off and gets to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nice takedown defense from Krum. No joy for Thompson on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Art Thompson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Krum closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Thompson did well to prevent Krum getting side control.
Thompson kicks off Krum and gets to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Thompson has taken the fight to the clinch.
The referee calls for Thompson to work.
Thompson is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Thompson for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Art Thompson dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Thompson clinches with his opponent.
Thompson creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Krum's defenses.
Thompson is trying to pull guard but Krum has him pressed against the cage.
Krum gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Thompson regains guard.
Krum throws a strike but Thompson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Krum is breathing heavily.

Krum shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Thompson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Thompson has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Krum is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
We've been informed that Krum has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Thompson jumps guard and drags Krum to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Thompson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Krum doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Krum manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Thompson keeping moving, preventing Krum from controlling successfully.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thompson throws his legs up looking for a submission but Krum uses it to pass to side control.
Thompson is trying to get back to his feet.
Thompson throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Thompson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Krum is stalling here. Thompson is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Krum seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Thompson has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Thompson has hold of Krum's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Krum seems comfortable defending it but Thompson has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Krum is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Krum is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Thompson couldn't care less - he's delighted!
