Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Irvin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steve Collins !
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Irvin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Collins moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Collins has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Collins scores with a jab to the jaw.
Irvin misses with a series of wild punches.
As Irvin backs off Collins throws a huge counter combo but Irvin manages to avoid it all.
Collins lands a nice hook to Irvin's body. Irvin takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Collins moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Collins swats away the attempt to clinch by Irvin.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Collins throws a quick inside leg kick.
Collins feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Irvins jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Irvin tries to close the distance and clinch but Collins swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Despite the aggression on Collins 's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Irvin throws a series of punches but Collins moves out of range.
Collins throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.


It looks like Paul Irvin has been cut.
Irvin throws a sloppy head kick and Collins moves out of range easily.
Irvin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Collins circles away quickly and effectively.
Collins feints a counter leg kick.
Irvin throws a right and a left that Collins avoids nicely.
Collins lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Irvin doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Irvin definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Collins lands a nice looking body kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Collins connects with a right that clearly hurt Irvin. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Collins proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Irvin collapses and taps out under the pressure!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Steve Collins !
Our winner, Steve Collins , made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
