Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Ryu Takemura (ranked 4068 p4p, 419 weight class) and Ape Piru (ranked 3014 p4p, 328 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryu Takemura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ape Piru!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Mauricio Rocha and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takemura scores with a jab to the jaw.
A nice combination there by Takemura.

Takemura swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
A lazy left from Takemura finds it's target.
Takemura lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Piru backs up against the ropes.
Takemura throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Takemura moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Takemura swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Piru takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Takemura looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Takemura connects with a nice looking jab.
Piru scores with a leg kick.
Piru misses with a body kick.
Piru takes one to the chin there.
Takemura misses with a two punch combination.
Ryu Takemura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Takemura changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Takemura digs a good hook to Piru's body.

Piru moves in looking to clinch but Takemura pushes him off.
Takemura lands with a right hand.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Takemura lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Piru gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Piru's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Takemura lands a really nice looking cross but Piru seems unphased.
Takemura lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Takemura lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

We've been informed that Piru has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Piru fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Takemura.
Piru gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Piru has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Piru fails in his attempt to clinch.
Piru takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The fight stays on the outside here - Piru looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Takemura clobbers Piru with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Piru has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Takemura wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Piru is still on wobbly legs! Can Takemura finish him?

Piru seems to have recovered his senses.

A punch lands to the side of Piru 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Takemura fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Piru looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Piru takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Ape Piru has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ryu Takemura is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Takemura is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Piru can do to turn this around?

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Takemura, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
