The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Willhems takes a swing at Dan's ribcage but misses.
Dan takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Willhems lands a slapping body shot.
Willhems is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dan.
Willhems throws a lazy uppercut

and Dan counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Willhems wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Dan manages to pass to side control.

Dan seems to be looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dan is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Willhems has managed to free his arm - good work.
Dan tries to pass the half guard into mount. Willhems knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Dan is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Willhems is defending against the submission attempts here by Dan.
Dan passes to full mount!

Willhems tries to improve his position but Dan has taken his back! Dan has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Willhems tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Dan pushes Willhems away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
