Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bud Little (ranked 24752 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hanayama Kaoru (ranked 3311 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bud Little!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hanayama Kaoru!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Ren Mimura and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kaoru instigates a clinch.

Kaoru gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Little kicks off Kaoru and gets to his feet.
Kaoru throws a sloppy head kick and Little moves out of range easily.

Kaoru decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Little has his hands clasped together around Kaoru's back. He's all about the action.
Little trying to control from the bottom.
Little tries to roll over but Kaoru keeps him under control.

Little regains full guard. Nicely done.
Kaoru not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Kaoru must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Kaoru would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
A combination from Kaoru does no damage.
Hanayama Kaoru seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Little closes the distance and clinches.

Kaoru manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Little stopping the sweep attempt from Kaoru.
Kaoru is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Little is looking to stand up but Kaoru won't let him.
Little is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Kaoru escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Little gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Little lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Little tries to stand but Kaoru is controlling from the bottom.
Little with a flurry of punches that miss.

Kaoru keeping moving, preventing Little from controlling successfully.
Little stopping the sweep attempt from Kaoru.
Kaoru can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Little controls the pace.
Little postures up and lands a big shot to Kaoru's brow.
Little missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Little has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Little working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Kaoru really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Little. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kaoru is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Little closes the distance and clinches.

Kaoru pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Kaoru darts in and clinches Little up against the cage.

Kaoru escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bud Little is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Little tries to clinch but Kaoru moves out of range.
Little doesn't manage to clinch there - Kaoru circles away.

Little tries to keep at a distance but Kaoru has taken the fight into the clinch.
Little tries to pull guard but Kaoru won't allow it.
Kaoru is trying to maintain a safe position but Little gets an underhook and turns Kaoru into the cage.

Kaoru manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hanayama Kaoru dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Little drives through and clinches with Kaoru against the cage.
Little is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Little tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kaoru just stands there and leans against the cage.

Kaoru breaks the clinch.

Kaoru shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Little manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Kaoru has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Kaoru trying to control the position from guard on top but Little is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Little not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kaoru won't allow Little to sweep him here.

Kaoru is looking to advance position but Little has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Kaoru is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Kaoru is breathing heavily.
Little working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Kaoru is looking to improve his position but Little isn't that keen on the idea.
Little landing strikes from the mount and Kaoru is in trouble!

Kaoru sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Little throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Kaoru makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kaoru.
Little is working Kaoru over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Little wants to stand but Kaoru is controlling his posture from full guard.
Kaoru is trying to control the position but Little postures up.

Little decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kaoru, up you get!
Kaoru keeps the fight on the outside.
Kaoru looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Kaoru throws a sloppy head kick and Little moves out of range easily.
Little feinted with a counter takedown.

Little instigates a clinch.

Little drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kaoru pulls his leg out and moves away.

Little has taken the fight to the clinch.

Kaoru manages to break the clinch.
Little fails with an attempt to clinch.

Kaoru turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Kaoru manages to end up in side control.

Little throws Kaoru to one side and escapes!

Little clinches up with Kaoru and pushes him back against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Little has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kaoru uses from the top position.

Bud Little dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Kaoru throws a right and a left that both miss.

Kaoru closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Little to the mat! Little manages to get full guard.
Little not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kaoru working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Kaoru stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Little swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Little controls Kaoru momentarily but Kaoru frees himself.

Kaoru got a little sloppy there for a moment and Little has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kaoru has managed to get both his arms back between Little's legs - danger averted.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Little trying to keep a closed guard but Kaoru is proving a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Kaoru lands a nice looking kick to the body. Little takes a step back to recover.

Kaoru darts in and clinches Little up against the cage.

Kaoru manages to break the clinch.
Little blocks a head kick by Kaoru.
Kaoru fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Kaoru circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kaoru avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Kaoru shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Little manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Little decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Little takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Little tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kaoru paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kaoru ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Little moves away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kaoru keeps the fight on the outside.
Little tries to clinch but Kaoru is having none of it.

Kaoru throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Little tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kaoru is in Little's guard.
Little looking to control.
Little being controlled here, momentarily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Little striking off his back but it's not causing Kaoru any problems.

And that's the end of the fight!
Hanayama Kaoru comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kaoru has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
