PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ranulf Drengot (ranked 3766 p4p, 386 weight class) and Adam Kadmon (ranked 2912 p4p, 328 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Ranulf Drengot has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Ranulf Drengot seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ranulf Drengot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Adam Kadmon!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Viktor Lagutenko and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kadmon thows a left - swing and a miss!
Kadmon throws a nice looking combination but Drengot bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Drengot seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Kadmon connects with the punch.
Kadmon misses with a right hand
and Drengot counters with a stiff right hand.
Drengot tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kadmon swivels and escapes.
Kadmon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Drengot throws a big counter combination but Kadmon scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Kadmon!
Kadmon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Drengot moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Drengot closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kadmon did well to prevent Drengot getting side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Drengot is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Drengot is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Kadmon felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Drengot seems to be looking for submissions.

Kadmon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Drengot. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That was a close round but I would say that Ranulf Drengot will probably get the nod.
That's time! Drengot's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Kadmon ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Drengot.
Drengot throws a series of punches but Kadmon avoids them all with ease.
Drengot misses with a takedown attempt - Kadmon sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Drengot is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kadmon is just riding it out for now. Drengot eventually gives up the hold.

Drengot is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kadmon is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kadmon has escaped and now he's on top!

Drengot working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kadmon doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kadmon manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Drengot swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kadmon throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Drengot is looking for a counter combo.
Drengot lands a jab to Kadmon's midsection.
Kadmon throws a right and a left that both miss.
Drengot goes for a double leg but Kadmon avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kadmon continues to drive forward.
Kadmon is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Kadmon throws out a loose jab but Drengot uses good head movement to avoid it.
Drengot uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kadmon.

and Drengot decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kadmon's guard.

Drengot drops back looking for a leg! Kadmon is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kadmon manages to kick Drengot off! Drengot jumps back into Kadmon's guard.

Drengot looking to sit in guard and control but Kadmon gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Drengot has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kadmon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Drengot will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Drengot bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kadmon's guard.

Drengot wants to control from the top but Kadmon keeps moving.
Kadmon is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Drengot thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Drengot drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kadmon dives on top into guard.


Drengot has his foot on Kadmon's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kadmon works his way back into a safe position though.
Ranulf Drengot overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Drengot had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kadmon defends it easily.
Kadmon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Drengot swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Drengot escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kadmon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Drengot is looking for a triangle but Kadmon pushes his legs off easily.

Drengot escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kadmon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Drengot seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Kadmon must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Drengot has his foot on Kadmon's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kadmon works his way back into a safe position though.

I would just about give that final round to Adam Kadmon.
I think Kadmon has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
