The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skull Face throws a good cross that connects.
Skull Face connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
An inside leg kick lands from Skull Face.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Wayne.
Skull Face lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Skull Face throws a head kick but Wayne moves out of range.
Skull Face scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Wayne shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Skull Face but Skull Face pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Skull Face gets caught napping as Wayne dives in and scores a takedown. Skull Face manages to retain guard.
Wayne makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Skull Face wants to stand up but Wayne is controlling him.

Wayne thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Wayne stands and throws Skull Face's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Wayne wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Skull Face, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Wayne lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Skull Face down.

We've been hearing good reports from Wayne's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Wayne has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Wayne postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Skull Face in real trouble here! The ref calls for Skull Face to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
