Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mikel Miles (ranked 24820 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kami Kaze (ranked 5005 p4p, 0 weight class). Kami Kaze will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mikel Miles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kami Kaze!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kaze rushes Miles and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Miles tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Miles escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Kaze has taken the fight to the clinch.
Miles tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kaze smiles and moves away.
Miles throws a head kick but Kaze moves out of range.
Kami Kaze seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kaze misses with a wild combination.
Kaze lands with a shot to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kaze blocks a head kick by Miles.
Miles is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Kaze moves into the clinch.

Kaze pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Miles shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kaze as he avoids it easily.

Kaze manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Miles on his heels. He'll look to pass Miles's guard now, I'm sure.

Miles has a closed guard, preventing Kaze from standing up.
Kaze throws a big elbow that misses.
Miles keeping moving, preventing Kaze from controlling successfully.
Kaze wants to stand but Miles is controlling his posture from full guard.

Kaze connects with a couple of short punches.
Miles really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Kaze is looking to work some ground and pound but Miles has wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Miles seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kaze avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Kaze clinches.

Miles manages to break the clinch.
Kaze displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

Miles doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Kaze gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Come on Kaze - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Miles breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Kaze closes the distance and clinches.

Kaze breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A solid body kick from Miles.
Kaze falls off balance throwing a combination

and Miles counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Miles stands up from guard. Let's bang!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Miles gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kaze throwing strikes but missing.
Miles looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Kaze stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Miles swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Miles has Kaze pulled in close to control his posture.
Miles has a closed guard, preventing Kaze from standing up.
Kaze throwing strikes from guard but Miles blocks nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kami Kaze dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Kaze lands a nice hook to Miles's body. Miles takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Kaze throws a combination that misses

and Miles counters by clinching up.
Kaze stalling against the cage.
Miles tries to stall but Kaze uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Kaze's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kaze has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kaze stalks Miles and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Miles's face. Miles staggers backwards, shaken.


It looks like Mikel Miles has been cut.
Kaze misses with a few strikes there.
Miles moves to clinch but Kaze breaks away
and Kaze connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kaze wants to land a leg kick but Miles is out of range.
Miles seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Kaze scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Kaze pushes Miles up against the cage in a clinch.

Kaze escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Miles takes one to the side of the head.

Miles rushes Kaze and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Kaze blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Kaze scores with a hook to the body.
Kaze lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Miles or not.
Miles tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Kaze working some nice short punches in the clinch.

Miles breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Kaze clinches.

Kaze moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Kami Kaze seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Kaze ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Kaze tries to bum rush Miles with a series of wild strikes but Miles uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Kaze connects with a looping right hand.
Kaze misses with a two punch combination.
Miles feinted with a counter takedown.

Kaze has closed the distance and engaged Miles in a clinch.
Miles tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kaze smiles and moves away.

Kaze cracks Miles with a good jab.
Kaze dips to his left and cracks Miles with an uppercut!
Mikel Miles is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kaze moves into the clinch.

Miles escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Miles showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kaze.

Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Kaze!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kaze closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Kaze breaks the clinch.
Danga de danga de dang - Kaze scores with a four punch combination!


Miles is rocked!
The fighters circle momentarily. Kaze darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Oh Miles is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Kaze clinches with his opponent.

Kaze breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Kaze fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Miles, pushing him back against the cage.
Miles fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Kaze manages to break the clinch.
A nice combination there by Kaze.

Kaze shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Miles is on queer street and Kaze is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Kami Kaze!
