Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Jai White (ranked 1514 p4p, 185 weight class) and Takeshi Kovacs (ranked 1411 p4p, 176 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Jai White!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Takeshi Kovacs!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kovacs dips to his left and cracks White with an uppercut!

Kovacs drives through and clinches with White against the ropes.

White breaks the clinch.

Kovacs closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kovacs lands in his opponent's guard.
White keeping moving, preventing Kovacs from controlling successfully.
Kovacs is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
White is wriggling around but Kovacs manages to pass to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

We've been told by White's head coaches at London MMA Club that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

White doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Kovacs throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. White tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kovacs is in White's guard.

White swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kovacs now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Kovacs misses with a wild combination.

Kovacs dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
White works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Kovacs rushes White and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.

Kovacs tightens his grip and picks White up, before dumping him to the ground. White manages to land in guard.
White is looking to stand back up but Kovacs counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by White.

Kovacs is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but White is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Well Kovacs has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
