Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Teddy Guthrie (ranked 6959 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Hanma (ranked 4616 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Teddy Guthrie has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Teddy Guthrie seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hanma misses with a takedown

and Guthrie decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hanma's guard.
Hanma is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Guthrie shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hanma's guard.

Hanma dives in for a single leg takedown but Guthrie sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Guthrie is nestled in close to Hanma, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Guthrie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hanma is just riding it out for now. Guthrie eventually gives up the hold.

Guthrie is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hanma sees it coming and defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Guthrie thows a huge punch but Hanma dodges it nicely.
Hanma has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Guthrie is working away from the top position though.
Hanma is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Guthrie jumps into side control!

Guthrie shoots in looking for a takedown but Hanma manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Guthrie's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Hanma fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Guthrie, pushing him back against the cage.

Guthrie tries to work over Hanma's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Guthrie utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Guthrie is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hanma gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Guthrie tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hanma just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Teddy Guthrie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Guthrie goes for a takedown attempt but Hanma pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Hanma dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Guthrie. That did some damage!

Guthrie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hanma's waist but Hanma gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Guthrie off to one side.

Guthrie leaves Hanma with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Hanma tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Guthrie swivels and escapes.
