Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shamil Zavurov (ranked 3464 p4p, 359 weight class) and Jason Mallone (ranked 2784 p4p, 291 weight class). Zavurov comes to the cage accompanied by DMX - The Rain. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, David Schapiro and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zavurov throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Zavurov uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Mallone has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Zavurov.

Zavurov does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Zavurov fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Mallone looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Mallone steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Zavurov. That one must have hurt.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Zavurov has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Mallone off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Mallone takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Zavurov lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Mallone walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Zavurov has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Mallone is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Our sources have told us that Zavurov has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.

Mallone has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Zavurov.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Zavurov creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Mallone's defenses.

Zavurov dips a shoulder and cracks Mallone with a mighty uppercut! Mallone falls back against the cage and Zavurov unloads with a barrage of strikes! Mallone is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Zavurov screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shamil Zavurov!
A relieved looking Shamil Zavurov thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
