Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Santiago Costa (ranked 546 p4p, 76 weight class) and Sergei Martynov (ranked 208 p4p, 29 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Martynov throws out a loose jab but Costa uses good head movement to avoid it.

It looked like Costa was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Martynov.

Martynov felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Costa is not going to allow Martynov to sit and survive in this position.
Costa is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Martynov has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Costa has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Martynov taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Costa doesn't care though - he's delighted!
