Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Harris (ranked 5113 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damir Stojnic (ranked 3932 p4p, 0 weight class). Damir Stojnic will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Harris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Damir Stojnic!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Jonathan Paton and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harris fails with a takedown attempt.
Stojnic looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Harris scores with a takedown into Stojnic's guard.
Stojnic is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Harris dives into side control.


Harris decides to stand back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Harris shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Stojnic defends it nicely.
Stojnic misses with a jab, cross combination.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stojnic throws a head kick that misses

and Harris decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Stojnic's guard.
Harris is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Stojnic is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Harris controls from within his opponent's guard.
Stojnic trying to keep a closed guard but Harris is proving a slippery customer.
Harris has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Harris seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Stojnic for as long as he can get away with.
Harris's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Stojnic.
Harris half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Harris scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Harris.

Harris decides to stand up, so the ref orders Stojnic to his feet.

Harris closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Stojnic quickly recovers to half guard.
Stojnic tries to kick Harris off in order to stand up. Harris Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Stojnic takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Harris tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Harris has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Stojnic is looking for a sweep.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Stojnic seems a little lost for a moment, as Harris dominates the positioning.

Harris working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Harris is putting a hurting on Stojnic here, landing some big shots from side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Harris gets the takedown into side control.
Stojnic tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Harris has got his arm under Stojnic's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Stojnic has spun round into Harris's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

Stojnic is sitting in close to Harris's body. Harris has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Stojnic is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Stojnic is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Harris.
