Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ma Moru (ranked 4684 p4p, 193 weight class) and Tim Slater (ranked 2414 p4p, 119 weight class). Tim Slater has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ma Moru!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Tim Slater!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slater tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Moru was well out of range. Poor timing from Slater.
Moru changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Moru misses with the body kick
and Slater counters with a good low kick that Moru was not able to check.
Slater darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Moru misses with the combination.
Moru throws a big shot that misses.
Slater shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Moru as he jumps to the side.
Slater has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Moru is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Moru throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Slater counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Slater closes the distance and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Moru is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Slater jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Moru walks away with a smile on his face. Slater gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Moru steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Slater.
Slater throws a right and a left that Moru avoids nicely.

Moru moves forwards but Slater connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Moru lands a jab to the head.
Moru moves into range and clinches up with Slater.
Slater is trying to pull guard but Moru turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Ma Moru has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Slater.
Moru has a couple of punches blocked by Slater.
Slater prevents a body shot from Moru.
Slater jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Moru walks away with a smile on his face. Slater gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Moru looks for the body kick but Slater saw that one coming.
Slater let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Tim Slater seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Moru counters with a straight right hand.
Slater bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
A thudding body kick lands there by Moru!

Slater misses with a wild body shot.
Slater throws a body punch but Moru moves out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Slater cracks a nice hook into Moru's ribs.
Moru misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Moru throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Slater.
Moru drives through with a takedown into Slater's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Moru sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Slater's guard.
Moru is looking for a kimura but Slater is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Moru to get the leverage.

Slater working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Moru doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Moru manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Moru postures up in Slater's guard and throws a big left but Slater blocks it.

Moru with a flurry of punches that miss.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Moru accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Moru drops back looking for a leg! Slater is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Slater manages to kick Moru off! Moru jumps back into Slater's guard.
Slater wants to sweep but no luck.
Moru in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Moru won't allow Slater to sweep him here.
Moru stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Slater swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Slater lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Moru wants to sweep but no luck.
Slater looking to pass the guard.
Slater wants to control from the top but Moru keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ma Moru will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Slater uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Moru has time to react.
Moru throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Slater looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Slater catches Moru with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Slater moves into range and connects with a jab.
Slater shoots in looking for a takedown. Moru tries to sprawl out of it but Slater keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Moru manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

As Slater looks to move away, Moru throws a big counter combo but Slater just gets out of the way.

Moru makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Moru.
Slater tries to free his leg and advance position but Moru is retaining full guard.
Moru seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Tim Slater showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Tim Slater tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
