PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Braxton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Parker Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Braxton comes into the arena with "Choke" by Vision of Disorder blaring out of the sound system. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Parker Smith!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Sam Margolis and Donald Grub.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Braxton lands a big shot that drops Smith! Can he finish him?

It looks like Parker Smith has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Smith looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Braxton has picked Smith up and slammed him! Smith can't keep hold of the triangle and Braxton manages to pass to side control!

Braxton stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Smith blocks a head kick by Braxton.

Braxton darts in and clinches Smith up against the cage.

Braxton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Smith tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Braxton swivels and escapes.
Braxton pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Smith tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Braxton smiles and moves away.

Smith has gone for a leg lock! Braxton slips out almost immediately though and dives into Smith's guard.

Braxton stands and steps away. Smith gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Braxton bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Smith's head.

That has opened up Parker Smith's cut even more.
Smith takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Braxton wants to stand and escape but Smith is having none of it.

Smith drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Smith jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Smith fails with a takedown attempt.
Braxton is looking to wear down Smith with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Braxton misses with a jab, cross combination.
Marcus Braxton is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Braxton has closed the distance and engaged Smith in a clinch.

Braxton manages to break the clinch.
Smith takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Smith misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Braxton throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Smith on the side of the head.

Braxton moves into the clinch.
Braxton lands with a light punch inside.

Braxton breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Braxton throws a head kick that misses.
Smith shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Smith changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Braxton tries to avoid it but Smith manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Braxton to the ground. Braxton escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Braxton as he avoids it easily.
Braxton tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Braxton forces Smith back against the cage and clinches.
Smith tries to score a body lock takedown but Braxton shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Smith goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Braxton turns into him and now he's in Smith's guard.

Braxton would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Smith pushes a forearm under Braxton's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Braxton is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
