Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lino Dodson (ranked 5313 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tatak Marines (ranked 24935 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lino Dodson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Tatak Marines!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Steve Montenegro and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dodson misses with a takedown
and Marines makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Marines stuffs the takedown.
Marines appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

Dodson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Marines has one foot on Dodson's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Dodson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Marines was covering up waiting for the punch and Dodson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dodson throws a strike but Marines avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Dodson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Dodson is fighting to break Marines's control of his arms but Marines is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Dodson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Dodson won't allow Marines to get back to his feet.

Marines is looking to stand up but Dodson isn't so interested in that idea.

Marines shoots for a takedown but Dodson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Lino Dodson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dodson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Marines sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

and Marines counters with a lovely straight right hand!

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Marines misses with a takedown attempt - Dodson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Marines has managed to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dodson is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Marines is defending well for now.
Marines lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Dodson backwards.


It looks like Lino Dodson has been cut.
Marines has Dodson pressed against the cage, preventing Dodson from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Dodson has had enough of the clinch but Marines keeps him there for the moment.

Marines has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Dodson will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Marines up against the cage.
Dodson jumps guard but Marines stands there with Dodson around his waist. Dodson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dodson wants to break free but Marines has control.

Marines goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Dodson pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Lino Dodson.
Marines shoots for a double leg takedown but Dodson sprawls well. He's pushed Marines's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Dodson counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Marines steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Marines shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dodson as he jumps to the side.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Lino Dodson will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Dodson moves into the clinch.
Marines misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Dodson lands a hook that snaps the head of Marines backwards.
Marines tries a body shot but Dodson blocks it.

Marines pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Dodson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Marines dives in for a single leg takedown but Dodson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Marines goes for a double leg but Dodson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Dodson continues to drive forward.
Dodson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Marines circles away.
Dodson dives in and grabs Marines's left leg, looking for a takedown. Marines pushes down on Dodson's head and hops out.
Marines doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Dodson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Marines manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Tatak Marines comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Marines has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
