Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Peyton Hughes (ranked 5187 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tino Tyno (ranked 5420 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Peyton Hughes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tino Tyno!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tyno defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hughes.

Tyno ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Tyno no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Hughes is fighting to break Tyno's control of his arms but Tyno is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Hughes seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tyno can do anything to dispel that myth.
Tyno has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hughes is working away from the top position though.

Hughes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hughes in particular looking to stall.
Hughes takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Still in half guard, Hughes seems content to control.

Hughes escapes and gets back to his feet.
Tyno avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

and Tyno counters with a two punch combo.

Hughes drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Hughes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tyno is fending him off so far but Hughes persists. Nope, Tyno circles away and we're back to standing.

Hughes is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Tyno is looking to control Hughes's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Tyno avoid being mounted?
Hughes looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Hughes is thwarting Tyno's attempts to control the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Peyton Hughes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Tyno wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Hughes controlling the position easily from mount.
Hughes seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tyno for as long as he can get away with.

Hughes won't let Tyno get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Tyno really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hughes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Tyno wants to get back to full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Hughes fails in his attempt to clinch.
Hughes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Peyton Hughes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tino Tyno.

Hughes can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tyno accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hughes wants to stand up but Tyno is controlling him.
Hughes is pulling down on Tyno's head to control his posture.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Tyno pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Tyno shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hughes pinned against the cage. Hughes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Tyno dodges the punch combination from Hughes.
Tyno shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hughes defends it nicely.
Peyton Hughes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tino Tyno.
Hughes lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
A telegraphed right hand from Hughes misses the target.
Hughes darts in looking for a takedown but Tyno gets double underhooks and turns Hughes into the cage.
Hughes closes the distance and clinches up with Tyno, looking for a takedown. Hughes pushes Tyno against the cage but Tyno circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Tyno fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hughes avoids it really well and circles away.
Hughes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tyno swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Tino Tyno seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Hughes shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tyno as he avoids it easily.
Tyno shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hughes but Hughes pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Tyno misses with an attempted mid kick.
Tyno throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hughes's waist but Hughes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tyno off to one side.

Hughes manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Tyno on his heels. He'll look to pass Tyno's guard now, I'm sure.

Tyno might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hughes haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Tyno pulls Hughes in to control the position.

Tyno has his foot on Hughes's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hughes works his way back into a safe position though.

Hughes thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Hughes stands up and waves to Tyno to follow him.
Tino Tyno has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Peyton Hughes is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Hughes shoots in looking for a takedown. Tyno tries to sprawl out of it but Hughes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tyno manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Peyton Hughes.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hughes, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
