Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jas Fro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Liddel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fro comes to the ring accompanied by Vangelis - Conquest of Paradise. Liddel is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Chuck Liddel. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Jas Fro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Chuck Liddel!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Liddel clinches up with Fro and pushes him back against the ropes.
The fighters are pressed against the ropes, as the pace of the fight slows.
Fro fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Fro wants to break the clinch but can't.
Fro blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Liddel scores with a knee to the head.


It looks like Jas Fro has been cut.

Liddel breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Liddel throws a nice looking combination but Fro bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Liddel swats away the attempt to clinch by Fro.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fro keeps the fight on the outside.
Liddel throws a head kick that misses.
Chuck Liddel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fro shoots in and bounces Liddel off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
Liddel is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Liddel is on top in guard.

Fro is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Fro bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Liddel's guard.
Liddel has control of Fro's left arm, preventing Fro from doing any damage.
Fro wants to control from the top but Liddel keeps moving.
Fro throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Fro passes Liddel's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Fro wants to control but Liddel is keeping him busy.

Fro is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Liddel has managed to free his arm - good work.
Fro is trying to control. Liddel wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Liddel has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Fro is working away from the top position though.
Liddel won't allow Fro to pass to mount.
Fro thows a huge punch but Liddel dodges it nicely.
Fro is looking to take a break and control but Liddel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Liddel throws a series of punches but Fro avoids them all with ease.
Fro slips a jab from Liddel.
Liddel tries to clinch up but Fro circles away and keeps his distance.
Liddel scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Fro is breathing heavily.
Liddel misses with a double jab.
Fro looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Fro tries to clinch but Liddel moves out of range.
Liddel clinches but Fro breaks the clinch

and Fro counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Liddel's guard now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Liddel looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fro is one step ahead there.

Fro is pushing down on Liddel's leg trying to pass to half guard. Liddel is fighting to maintain full guard but Fro has managed to sneak the leg through.

Fro is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Fro seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Liddel does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Liddel moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Fro loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Liddel is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

and Liddel holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Liddel tries to land knees in the clinch but Fro avoids the damage to the body.
Liddel is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Fro is keeping busy.
Liddel keeps control of Fro as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Liddel breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Fro closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Liddel to the mat! Liddel manages to get full guard.

Fro looking to sit in guard and control but Liddel gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Fro looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Liddel stands and throws Fro's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Fro is trying to work for a sweep but Liddel has mounted him!
Liddel landing strikes from the mount and Fro is in trouble!
Fro tries to lock up and control but Liddel gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Fro is in a horrible position here. Liddel smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Liddel takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Liddel's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Fro trying desperately to get to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Fro avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Fro isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Liddel stacks Fro on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Liddel!

Fro gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Fro is squirming around, avoiding Liddel's attempts to control the action.
Liddel controlling from mount.
Fro is looking to improve his position but Liddel isn't that keen on the idea.
Fro wants to control but Liddel is having none of it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Fro is wriggling around trying to escape.
Liddel looking to control and managing it successfully.
Fro is looking to improve his position but Liddel isn't that keen on the idea.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Despite being in the dominant position, Chuck Liddel just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
