Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cody Brinks (ranked 1276 p4p, 159 weight class) and Ian Maan (ranked 1340 p4p, 168 weight class). Maan has chosen Someday as his entrance music. Cody Brinks has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ian Maan!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Maan misses the shot to the body.
Maan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Brinks moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A jab from Maan finds it's way through Brinks's defenses.
Brinks has been working on his boxing with his coaches at XFighter in the buildup to the fight.
Brinks throws a hook to the side of Maan's head but Maan sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Maan throws a shot from downtown. Brinks moves away and avoids it.
Maan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Brinks defends it nicely.

Maan is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Brinks.

Brinks fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Maan, pushing him back against the cage.

Brinks gets through Maan's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Brinks is pressed up against the cage. Maan has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Brinks down to the mat. Brinks avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Maan avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Brinks fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Maan has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Ian Maan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Maan moves out of range of the body kick from Brinks.
Cody Brinks is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Maan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Brinks sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Maan scores with the left hand. Brinks knows he should have avoided that one.
A jab lands there for Maan.
Maan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Brinks paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Oooooh!!! Brinks has knocked Maan down with a huge combo! Brinks steps away and waves a wobbly Maan back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Maan connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Brinks momentarily.
Brinks tries a low kick but Maan avoids it.
Maan takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Brinks cracks Maan with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Maan tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Brinks pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Maan is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cody Brinks!
