Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Lowery!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jay Layne!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Layne ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lowery moves away.
Layne lands with a slapping head kick.
Layne feints and then cracks Lowery's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Lowery down.
Jay Layne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Layne scores with a nice right hand.
Layne walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Lowery drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Layne swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Lowery's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jay Layne!
After the fight, Jay Layne was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
