Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sultan Yusupov (ranked 777 p4p, 112 weight class) and Alojz Sanel (ranked 1016 p4p, 138 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sultan Yusupov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alojz Sanel!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yusupov shoots in looking for a takedown but Sanel manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Yusupov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Sanel jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Sanel circles away from the clinch attempt
and Sanel counters with a straight right hand.


It looks like Sultan Yusupov has been cut.
Yusupov throws a right hand that misses
and Sanel counters with a stiff right hand.
Yusupov doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Sanel counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Yusupov takes the fight into the clinch.

Sanel breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sanel feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Yusupov sprawling to the canvas! Yusupov rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Sanel finish him?!


Yusupov is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Yusupov loads up on a big right hand but Sanel slips the punch.
Oh Yusupov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sanel has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Yusupov has managed to clinch.
Yusupov seems to have got his legs back now.
Yusupov takes a shot to the head.
Yusupov blocks a body shot from Sanel.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yusupov jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sanel walks away with a smile on his face. Yusupov gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sultan Yusupov. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Yusupov has taken the fight to the clinch.
Yusupov swings wildly with an uppercut but Sanel uses good head movement to avoid it.

Sanel lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Yusupov or not.
Sanel tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Sanel lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Sanel softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Yusupov swings wildly with an uppercut but Sanel uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sanel keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Yusupov's efforts to push away.
Yusupov is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Sanel to keep the fight standing.
Sanel doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Yusupov tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Sanel smiles and moves away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Yusupov drives through and clinches with Sanel against the cage.

and Sanel counters with a crisp right that sends Yusupov to the canvas! Sanel follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alojz Sanel!
During a confident post fight interview, Alojz Sanel thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
