Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Xander Colton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Crison Omayao!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Colton dives in for a single leg takedown but Omayao sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Omayao with the counter takedown but Colton avoids it easily.
Colton shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Omayao counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Omayao.
Omayao jumps guard but Colton stands there with Omayao around his waist. Omayao gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Omayao is trying to drag Colton to the mat but Colton just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Colton had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Omayao defends it easily.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Colton is on top in guard.

Colton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Colton drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Omayao manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Colton has Omayao in his guard.

Colton is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Colton trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Colton gets his hands free as Omayao looks to control.

Colton has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
What can Omayao do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

You can see the frustration on Omayao's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Colton is persistently looking for the submission but Omayao is defending it well.
Omayao is really stuck here.

Colton tries to get the hooks in deep but Omayao pushed the leg off.
Colton is really struggling to control Omayao but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Omayao wants to control his opponent's hands but Colton gets his hands free.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Colton shoots for a takedown but Omayao saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Colton is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Omayao can do to turn this around?

Omayao drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Colton gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Colton gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Omayao regains guard.
Omayao is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Colton dives into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Omayao tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Colton just content to control the position.

Colton has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Omayao shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Colton pinned against the cage. Colton gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Omayao moves into the clinch.

Omayao pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Omayao shoots in but Colton avoids the takedown attempt easily.
As Omayao tries to get set, Colton tries to push him back and clinch up but Omayao manages to avoid the attempt.
Omayao looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Omayao shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Colton pinned against the cage. Colton gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Omayao is breathing heavily.
Omayao is looking to clinch.
Omayao tries to close the distance and clinch up but Colton swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Colton blocks a head kick by Omayao.
Omayao takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The fight stays on the outside here - Omayao looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Colton seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Crison Omayao will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Colton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Omayao gets tackled into the cage by Colton. Colton maintains the clinch.

Colton has hold of one of Omayao's legs. Omayao is fighting the takedown attempt but Colton gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Colton is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Omayao is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Omayao has escaped and now he's on top!

Omayao must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Colton pulls Omayao in close to his closed guard and prevents Omayao from doing any damage or advancing position.

Colton's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Omayao wants to control but Colton is keeping busy.
Colton looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Colton moves into full mount! Omayao won't be happy about that!

Xander Colton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Colton looking for a guillotine from mount but Omayao is having none of it.

Colton pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Colton is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Omayao to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Omayao shrugs it off.
Omayao is desperately trying to improve his position but Colton has a good base and remains in mount.
Omayao is trying to reverse the position but instead Colton has taken his back - oops!
Colton lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.

Colton working for a choke but Omayao is defending well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
