PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jean Duc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wilson McGruder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Duc might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Cannibal Corpse - "Make Them Suffer". I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGruder scores with a crisp jab that stopped Duc in his tracks.

It looks like Jean Duc has been cut.

Duc darts in and clinches McGruder up against the cage.

Duc tightens his grip and picks McGruder up, before dumping him to the ground. McGruder manages to land in guard.
McGruder really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Duc. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Duc scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Duc distracts McGruder with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Duc is in close to McGruder's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Duc postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
McGruder throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Duc wants to control from the top but McGruder keeps moving.
Duc has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Duc slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Duc is really struggling to control McGruder but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Duc moves into range and clinches up with McGruder.
McGruder is working for takedown but Duc is calmly controlling the position for now.
McGruder looks gassed!
Duc is pressed up against the cage. McGruder has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Duc down to the mat. Duc avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Wilson McGruder seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Duc shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Duc can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as McGruder is looking to escape.
