Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kenshi Kimura (ranked 1114 p4p, 121 weight class) and Juan Luna (ranked 433 p4p, 54 weight class). Luna has chosen Noypi by Bamboo as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Juan Luna!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Dirk Anderson and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luna lands with a right hand.
Kimura shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Luna as he jumps to the side.

and Luna counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
The fighters circling - Kimura throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Luna now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Kimura shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Luna as he avoids it easily.

Kimura will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Luna up against the cage.

Luna's coach down at Cozad The Island was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Luna's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Kimura seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Luna cracks Kimura with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Kimura looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Luna finish him?


Kimura is rocked!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Luna drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Kimura's head, knocking him out cold! Luna is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Juan Luna!
During a confident post fight interview, Juan Luna thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
