Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Barbosa (ranked 4108 p4p, 392 weight class) and Junior Dos Santos (ranked 2855 p4p, 316 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Joseph Jones and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbosa keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Dos Santos has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Barbosa.
Dos Santos has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Dos Santos there as he acknowledges the shot.
Barbosa displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dos Santos.
Barbosa throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Dos Santos on the side of the head.
Barbosa connects with a leg kick. Dos Santos looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Dos Santos shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Barbosa as he jumps to the side.
Barbosa tries to counter by clinching up but Dos Santos breaks away and moves out of range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dos Santos isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Barbosa stacks Dos Santos on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Barbosa!

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Dos Santos is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Barbosa gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Dos Santos is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Barbosa.

Barbosa connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Dos Santos's hands.

Barbosa throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dos Santos was covering up waiting for the punch and Barbosa finishes the takedown easily into guard.

A less than humble Daniel Barbosa misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
