The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ritter throws a shot from downtown. Zaitsev moves away and avoids it.
Ritter takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Ritter looks to land a body kick but Zaitsev moved away.
Ritter getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Sylvester Ritter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ritter throws a big shot that misses.
A lazy left from Ritter finds it's target.
Zaitsev lands a nice looking kick to the body. Ritter takes a step back to recover.
A slow jab from Zaitsev misses its intended target.
Ritter misses with a lunging right hand
and Zaitsev makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Ritter really felt that one!
Ritter looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Ritter is breathing heavily.
Zaitsev scores with a kick to the body.

and Zaitsev counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Sylvester Ritter has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ritter shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Zaitsev ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Ritter's jaw. Ritter's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Zaitsev does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.

An out of breath Dmitri Zaitsev thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
Sylvester Ritter was interviewed post fight and said 'To all the young kids out there... Its not the failures that define who you are but how hard you bite back once you get up.'.
