PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Harold Shipman (ranked 2221 p4p, 251 weight class) and EA Poe (ranked 1524 p4p, 179 weight class). Shipman comes to the cage accompanied by I'll beat yo ass.. Poe has chosen Unleashing The Bloodthirsty by Cannibal Corpse as his entrance music. EA Poe will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poe lands a leg kick that knocks Shipman off balance momentarily.
Poe throws a predictable looking body shot
and Shipman cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sloppy strikes from Poe. Those never looked like landing.
Shipman jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Poe misses with a straight left.
Poe scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Poe swings for the body but Shipman moves out of range.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Shipman darts in looking for a takedown but Poe gets double underhooks and turns Shipman into the cage.

No joy there for Poe, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Shipman was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

The fighters circle momentarily. Poe darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

EA Poe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Shipman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Poe tries to avoid it but Shipman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Poe to the ground. Poe escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Shipman drops Poe with a left and a right! Oh, Poe is hurt - Shipman dives into side control looking to finish!

In his post fight interview, Harold Shipman started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
