Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sergej Meyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, James Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Ren Mimura and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meyer wants to clinch up but Johnson keeps it at a distance.
Johnson is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Meyer as he avoids it easily.
Meyer goes for a high kick. It partially lands.


It looks like James Johnson has been cut.
Meyer tries to clinch but Johnson moves out of range.
Johnson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Meyer tries to clinch there but Johnson circles away.
Johnson steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Meyer.
Meyer falls off balance throwing a combination

and Johnson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Meyer's guard.
Meyer wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Johnson manages to pass to side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnson with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Johnson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Let's hope that Johnson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Johnson is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Johnson extends the arm and Meyer is forced to tap!
