Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Renaldo Herrera (ranked 23608 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jace Scott (ranked 4849 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Renaldo Herrera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jace Scott!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Scott closes the distance and clinches.
Scott stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Herrera stalling in the clinch.

Scott ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Scott no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Scott bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Herrera's guard.

Herrera is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Scott controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Herrera wants to sweep but no luck.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Herrera is controlling Scott's posture.
Scott won't allow Herrera to sweep him here.
Scott throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Herrera works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Herrera is working an open guard so Scott takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Scott drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Herrera has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Scott is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Scott wants to break free but Herrera has control.

Herrera jumps guard.
Herrera wants to sweep here but Scott controlling him for the moment.
Scott wants to pass the guard but Herrera is keeping the position.
Herrera is trying to keep Scott in close.

Scott trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Herrera is looking for a triangle but Scott pushes his legs off easily.
Scott is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Scott stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Herrera swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Herrera controls Scott momentarily but Scott frees himself.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Scott controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Scott throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Herrera tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Scott is in Herrera's guard.

Herrera thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Herrera wants to stand and escape but Scott is having none of it.
Scott trying to control the position from guard on top but Herrera is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Herrera is pulling down on Scott's head. It's preventing any offense from Scott, at least for the moment.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Herrera really is a fat lump.

Scott tries to free his leg and advance position but Herrera is retaining full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Herrera enables Scott to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Herrera manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Herrera has his feet on Scott's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Jace Scott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Scott tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Herrera keeps the fight on the outside.
Scott tries to clinch there but Herrera circles away.
Herrera is looking to counter punch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The crowd cheers as Scott lands an impressive looking overhand right. Herrera doesn't seem phased though.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Scott shoots in and bounces Herrera off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jace Scott will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Scott punishes Herrera's body with a nice straight punch.

Scott fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Herrera to the ground. Scott is now in Herrera's guard.
Scott wants to pass the guard but Herrera is keeping the position.
Scott stopping the sweep attempt from Herrera.

Herrera throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Scott prevents Herrera from getting back to his feet.
Herrera is pulling down on Scott's head to control his posture.
Herrera is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Herrera avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Scott wants to control from the top but Herrera keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Scott moves into the clinch successfully.

Herrera pulls guard.
Herrera controls Scott momentarily but Scott frees himself.
Scott working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Herrera is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Scott is aware though and is defending well.

Scott wanted to stand there but Herrera had control of the position.

Herrera wants to stand but Scott is controlling the position.

Scott is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Herrera is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Herrera has escaped and now he's on top!

Scott utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Scott has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Herrera can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Scott pulls Herrera in close to prevent any damage.
Herrera in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Herrera working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Scott's head.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Herrera drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Herrera jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Scott throws a nice looking combination but Herrera bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Scott manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Herrera on his heels. He'll look to pass Herrera's guard now, I'm sure.
Scott throws a big right hand that misses.
Scott postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Herrera is pulling down on Scott's head to control his posture.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Scott's corner is telling him to maintain position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jace Scott showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Scott gets to his feet. Herrera looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Renaldo Herrera is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Scott tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Herrera throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Scott's waist but Scott gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Herrera off to one side.

Herrera gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Scott to score an easy takedown into full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Herrera is on top in guard.

Scott controls Herrera momentarily but Herrera frees himself.
Scott manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Herrera manages to get himself to full guard.

Jace Scott has got the better of the ground game so far.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Scott accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Scott throws a big right hand that misses.
Herrera is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Herrera manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Scott manages to get himself to full guard.

Scott wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Scott throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Herrera escapes and throws Scott's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Scott takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Herrera working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Scott sneaks back into half guard.
Scott moves into full guard.
Renaldo Herrera has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jace Scott is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Scott is trying to control the position but Herrera postures up.

Jace Scott comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Scott has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
