Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Edwin Marquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Jones Jr!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marquez gets caught flat footed, as Jones Jr shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Marquez kicks Jones Jr off and gets to his feet.
Marquez lands a right hook to the body.
Jones Jr ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Jones Jr has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Good standup being displayed there by Marquez as he connects with a hook.
Marquez motions for Jones Jr to come forward. Marquez throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Jones Jr cracks Marquez with a right hand to the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A swing and a miss from Marquez.
Marquez throws a leg kick but Jones Jr sees it coming and moves out of range.
Marquez throws out a leg kick but Jones Jr moves out of range and Marquez only half commits.

Marquez feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Marquez swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Jones Jr counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Marquez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jones Jr was well out of range. Poor timing from Marquez.
Marquez swings widly with a right hand
and Jones Jr scores with a counter punch that sends Marquez to the canvas! Jones Jr smells blood - he's punishing Marquez with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Marquez has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jim Jones Jr!
