Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Sultan Rah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Duff McKagan!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McKagan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rah tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. McKagan is in Rah's guard.
McKagan wants to pass the guard but Rah is keeping the position.
Rah definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
McKagan sitting in guard here, content to control.
McKagan is pushing down on Rah's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rah is fighting to maintain full guard but McKagan has managed to sneak the leg through.

McKagan is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Rah has managed to free his arm - good work.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McKagan wants to work for an arm triangle but Rah is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Rah knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McKagan on the ground.
Rah wants to control but McKagan is keeping busy and won't allow it.

McKagan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rah is just riding it out for now. McKagan eventually gives up the hold.
McKagan content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Rah regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from McKagan.
McKagan is looking to work some ground and pound but Rah has wrist control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
McKagan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

McKagan is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
McKagan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
McKagan engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Rah is breathing heavily.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

McKagan passes Rah's left leg - he's now in half guard.
McKagan is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

McKagan is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rah sees it coming and defends easily.

McKagan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
McKagan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rah's head.

McKagan frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
McKagan controlling from mount.
McKagan thowing shots but they're missing.
Rah is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, McKagan has taken his back.

McKagan is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Our spies down at at Blanc Fitness Academy - 180$/week inform us that McKagan has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rah is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Duff McKagan dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


McKagan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rah is fending him off so far but McKagan persists. Nope, Rah circles away and we're back to standing.
McKagan fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Rah feints and as McKagan raises his hands in defense, Rah changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

McKagan manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
McKagan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Rah has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed McKagan clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
You can see the frustration on McKagan's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McKagan manages to reverse the position and now he's in Rah's guard. Nice work there by McKagan.
McKagan is looking to work some ground and pound but Rah has wrist control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
McKagan sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rah's guard.
McKagan is taking a breather. Rah says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Let's hope that McKagan has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

McKagan seems to be looking for submissions.

McKagan thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Rah wants to improve his position but McKagan is controlling well.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with McKagan in particular looking to stall.

McKagan thows a huge punch but Rah dodges it nicely.
McKagan not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Rah wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by McKagan.

It looks like Sultan Rah has been cut.
