Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Julian Gil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chucho Peres!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Aafke Stam and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
No luck for Gil with that takedown attempt.
Peres keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Peres fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gil avoids it really well and circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gil goes for a double leg but Peres avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Peres continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Julian Gil. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gil throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Peres with the counter takedown but Gil avoids it easily.

Gil scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Peres manages to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Peres manages to get to full guard.
Gil works a leg free and moves into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gil tries to pass to full mount but Peres defends it.

Gil is trying to work for a kimura but Peres is defending well.
Gil passes to full mount!
Gil moves to his opponent's back but Peres bucks him off and ends up in guard. A bit of a disaster there for Gil.
Gil is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Peres advances to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Peres maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Gil could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Peres has cracked it and Gil is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Peres!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Chucho Peres!
