Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Britt Marsh (ranked 24899 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karlos Vemola (ranked 4284 p4p, 0 weight class). Karlos Vemola has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Colin Fray and Ryoma Takatsuka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vemola has closed the distance and engaged Marsh in a clinch.
Vemola tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Vemola gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Marsh makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Marsh looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Britt Marsh's cut is getting worse.
Marsh blocks a jab.
Marsh avoids the body shot from Vemola.
As Vemola tries to get set, Marsh tries to push him back and clinch up but Vemola manages to avoid the attempt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vemola lands a nice looking body shot.

Vemola closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Marsh to the mat! Marsh manages to get full guard.
Vemola throws a strike but Marsh rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Vemola is pulling down on Marsh's head. It's preventing any offense from Marsh, at least for the moment.
Vemola's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Our spies down at at Cozad MMA Hilo inform us that Vemola has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vemola can do anything to dispel that myth.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Vemola is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Vemola is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Marsh presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Marsh really is a fat lump.

Marsh tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Vemola smiles and moves away.

Vemola throws a right and a left that Marsh avoids nicely.

Marsh shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Marsh was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Vemola tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Vemola just trying to survive but Marsh is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Marsh is not going to allow Vemola to sit and survive in this position.

Karlos Vemola dominated that round.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Nice jab there from Vemola.
Vemola throws a jab when Marsh was well out of range.
Marsh lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Vemola circles away quickly and effectively.

Vemola looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Marsh tries to kick Vemola off in order to stand up. Vemola Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
The strikes coming from Vemola are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vemola is working Marsh over with some ground and pound from side control.

A less than humble Karlos Vemola misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
