The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Higginbottom will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Omer tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Higginbottom misses with a series of wild punches.
Higginbottom defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Omer.
Higginbottom throws a series of punches but Omer moves out of range.

Omer shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Higginbottom napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Higginbottom tries to strike but it doesn't land.

Omer is chipping away with strikes.
Higginbottom takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Higginbottom has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Higginbottom manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Omer lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Higginbottom quite badly. Higginbottom pulls Omer in close trying to recover. Omer postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Higginbottom on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Higginbottom doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
